The United Church of Christ

The United Church of Christ was founded in 1957 as the union of several different Christian traditions. From the beginning of our history, we have been a church that believes that Christians do not always have to agree to be able to live together in communion. Our motto "that they may all be one" comes from Jesus' prayer for the unity of the church found in the gospel of St John. The UCC is one of the most diverse Christian churches in the United States.

Our Beliefs

Faith United Church of Christ is part of the UCC denomination.  We are a community of faith that seeks to respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. Each of us has our own personal responsibility to come to our own understanding of faith and what the gospel means to us. Each of us must put our faith into daily.  We practice freedom of thought and personal responsibility of faith. Everyone's opinion is valued and cherished.

• We welcome all people into worship, regardless of religion, heritage, past experience, age, race or ethnic background.
• The celebration of Holy Communion open to everyone and all ages.
• Each congregation is free to govern themselves, select their own pastor and organize their work as they see fit.
• One's faith must be matched with everyday actions and decisions. We welcome strangers, feed the hungry, cloth those in need, work for justice and oppose evil.
• Active faith requires disciplined study and education. So we offer Sunday School for all ages, confirmation studies and the support of our colleges and seminaries.

Membership

Faith United Church of Christ welcomes anyone to become a member of our church who is ready to commit their loyalty to Jesus Christ as Savior and who will accept the joys and responsibilities of being a follower of Jesus in this family of faith. You come to membership by your personal statement of faith, by transfer from another church, or by baptism into the faith. Please speak with our pastor about becoming a member at your convenience.
